Limousine Law

Supporting Breast Cancer Care

The following is regarding the law relating to the carriage of passengers in a stretch limousine.

Any Stretch Limousine no matter how many seats it has is only allowed to carry a maximum of eight passengers, the UK law states that to carry more than eight passengers you require a PCV licence: for the driver and the vehicle. While it is relatively simple to obtain a PCV licence personally, it is virtually impossible to obtain one for a Stretch Limousine to carry more than eight passengers, as the vehicles do not comply with UK regulations regarding headroom, doors etc. To comply with the regulations the vehicle has to be issued with a certificate of initial fitness, this certificate will not be issued by the authorities due to the vehicles non-compliance. Without this certificate and in the event of an accident are you insured with more than eight of you in a stretch limousine?

That's one hell of a big gamble with your life!

Remember: 1 stretch limousine = eight persons maximum!

Still not convinced

- ask the Police

- ask the National Limousine Association

- ask the Vehicle Inspectorate 0870 60 60 440 (option 4)

So remember it doesn't matter how big the vehicle is, it can not carry more than eight persons.
